SUNL 50CC Scooter rebuild question

Hello everyone,
I am thinking of buying a 50CC scooter in fact 2 of them for the price of $1,000.00 for both so $500.00 each. Both of them run becuase I test drove them except the one runs about 20 MPH wide open and the other will run about 35 wide open. The guy that I am buying them from said the faster one just had the carb rebuilt but he didn't have the money to rebuild the slower one. How hard are these to do? Are they as easy as the carbs on the Johnson/Evinrude outboard motors. Also the slower one will only crank with the kick start pedal and the electrical starter turns the motor over when you turn the key but it doesn't fire over but kick starting it comes on intstantly. What do you think could be causing that and will the carbs be easy to do on the slower one? Thanks Bob

Hi there,
First you need to make sure before you spend any money on those scooters you will be able to get spare parts for them. There bunch of brands in th emarket now and people who sells them makes a pennies on adollor and then after they sell all of their stock they close doors.. So if something goes wrong you will not be able to get spare parts for it...50cc scooters only do 35mph so he probbly did not rebuilt the carb on th eone that goes fast but he could not find a carb rebuilt kit on the one that goes slow.. Ask him where does he get his varb rebuilt kit.. and how much.. call the number ask them how long they have been in biz. If i were you i would buy a brand name with national dealer web.. like honda, ect... for the other problem it might be as simple as a weak battery.. battery has enough juice to turn the engine but not strong enough ignite the mixture...

I have 2 of those chinese pos.

First you have to use the fuel shut off every time you turn off the motor gas will get all over the floor. Nothing i could do will stop it. These carbs are like chain saw carbs.

Second the steel is real garbage. Seems everyday they ride it the kids i have to fix something.

Third bolts just don't stay on. Don't know why.

Your gonna pay way too mush i paid 200 for both but they weren't running.
