93 Johnson 70TLETS water pressure

What should the water pressure be? I replaced impeller and pump kit, replaced thermostat cover and spring but pressure falls from 15 psi (guage) to 7 psi. good stream at tattle tale, no over heat alarm, good stream at gauge.

First, is it overheating? Can you touch the cylinder head(s) w/o getting burned after motor has run for a while?

Are you saying pressure was 15 psig before the rebuild and now is 7 psig? If pressure after is lower, you got something wacked (gasket, outlet grommet, etc.).

Did you replace the pump liner and wear plate?
