The weather is perfect.

The water is smooth as silk in the bay.

The sun is out.

The wind is low.

Lunch is packed.

The boat is packed.

We are launching in 10 minutes --- got to go...

I hope you guys are having fun. I have been stuck working all weekend. The closeest that I have been to getting on the water is from a rooftop 12 stories up.

I am soaking wet! Took a 4 hour drive to ride atv's with my son up Mount Washington, NH 6288' and it rained all the way to the summit. Visability at times was maybe 25'...... then it would clear just briefly for about a 1/2 mile. Rain on the way up and rain on the way down....... Being with my son all day was worth every drop!

I went out yesterday, we spent all day on the river. Today I had to put a motocross race on... it was our last race of the year so I'll have all kinds of time to boat now!

Just got back from three days of fishin, boatin, goofin off and eating like royalty with my wife. Dinner tonight was marinated grilled bass that she caught (jeez that hurts:D)! What a weekend!!:)
Oh yeah, the weather was grand!

Re: Naaa-Na-Na-Naaaa-Naaaa

Today was a good day. A couple of months ago, I picked up another 1972 65hp Johnson. The owner sold it to me for $150 because the shift switch in his control unit had failed. The purchase was a gamble but after building a stand to put the motor on, doing a compression test (130 - 140 psi) and solenoid test, and hooking up a control unit that I had, I ran it today!

The motor missed and leaked fuel out of the bottom carb but it ran! I was able to keep it running long enough to check the shift and everything did what it was supposed to!

At this point, I am satisfied that the motor is worth sinking a few bucks into so it will soon be time to pull the carbs for a rebuild, followed by the ignition system, etc. LOL, ain't it just grand to be able to build a solid "runner" out of someone else's castaways?!!

Congratulation on the find!

Isn't it nice to role the dice, and sometimes have them land in your favor.

Not much you can do with a modern one anyway. Stupid plastic carburetors, plastic gas tanks, plastic housings etc, etc. Bah!

Remember the one's with the wind-up recoil? Man, those were cool! IF the motor was tuned right.:D
