Hello

I am going to remove the console on my boat and want to get rid of the 55 hp that is currently on the boat and get a tiller steer motor. I plan on getting a 15 hp to 25 hp engine. How can I determine if I need to purchase a short shaft or long shaft outboard.

My boat is 14ft

Re: Long Shaft or Short Shaft?

Measure the transom where the motor mounts from the top to the lowest point on the centerline. Should be 15 or 20".

Re: Long Shaft or Short Shaft?

Thank you...I am assuming that 15" is short shaft and 20" long shaft...right?

Thanks
