1995 mercury 4 stroke hard starting after 20 minutes

1995 merc 4 stroke seems to choke it self to much after sitting when warm and i dont see any tests in the book for it. any thoughts thanks

did you ever figure out what happened? i think the same thing is happening to my 99 50 hp 4 stroke.

I have to think, what does it need to start; Gas, Air, correct air/fuel mixture good compression, good spark, timing, and good cranking speed. You stated your engine chokes itself? I have a carbureted 9.9 Fourstroke and I have to push the key to choke it. It has an electric solenoid mounted near the carb, the sol is either all the way on or all the way off, rattles like crazy, otherwise works fine. Does this help?
