have a '87 Lowe pontoon with 48 spl outboard. I have had 2 back surgery's and can't lift motor up and down so always need somebody with me to help. would like to put electric tilt on it but don't know what all would be involved. previous owner said it had it at one time but it tore up and he threw it away. it has a POWR/TRAN where motor mounts. is that part of it? what else do I have to have, and any guess at price? any info will be greatly appreciated. THANKS

Re: power tilt johnson 48 spl. outboard

thank you tashadaddy for the link. after seeing pic's I can tell my boat has the piece where motor is mounted that is used to lift. I need the ram and motor to operate it. I call it a ram, sure there is another name for it. it looks like a shock absorber the way it mounts on both ends. at least now I know what I am looking for. thanks again.
