this happened this afternoon. a strange strong storm hit the Port of Jacksonville. this is from First Coast News site.
JACKSONVILLE, FL -- Severe weather on the First Coast knocked over two cranes at Blount Island.
Nancy Rubin with JAXPORT says one crane tipped over into a second crane.
The cranes are 100 feet tall and weigh 950 tons and are used to load and unload cargo. A third crane at the port has been deemed unstable.
No one was on the cranes at the time of the collapse.
Rubin adds that crews had just walked away from the heavy equipment when they saw storms heading their way.
Traffic in and out of Blount Island had been briefly put on hold.
