3.0 Mercruiser alpha one gen 2 gear ratio?

Hello everyone,

I have a 1997 mercruiser alpha one gen 2 I/O 3.0 4 cyl. 135hp. I recently had an accident where my outdrive came off the back of the boat... believe the gear ratio is 1:94, or 1:98??? but my questions is can i use a 2003 mercruiser alpha one gen 2 2:00 gear ratio because thats all i have?? or can i change the shaft and u joint section to match up? Please Help!!! boat sitting and the fish are biting!!! Thanks...

Ayuh,...

Another Gen.II with 2:1s should be a Plug,+ Play....

I've seen drives ripped off before, but it always requiered a new transom shield, gimbal ring, and bellhousing, as things were always bent, broken or cracked.
