You should try posting your WOT rpm and speed, your drive ratio and prop pitch over in the prop section. Minimum info needed to help is WOT rpm and speed and prop pitch.

Buy a lower pitch prop that you will use when water skiing. Either that or lose some weight...sorry couldn't resist! :)

reduced pitch prop, tabs, and reduced weight (in boat) are all good suggestions. Since this is a new boat and I/O's might be new to you, I'll add:

Is your driver trimming all the way in before launch? and adjusting trim back out once boat planes?

Greetings Mr. kowobblercleo,

I had the same feeling the first time I skied behind my current "open bow/runabout". With the 5.7/320HP Volvo DP it felt like it had a bunch of punch out of the hole when "riding" in the boat. Once I got behind it with a slalom ski I was a tad disappointed. (next time I test drive I will bring my ski... :D)
I'm about 190 yet deep start with a double boot comp ski and it pulls me out fine yet with a tad bit of drag. Not a pig yet not like the Ski Nautique I had skied behind in the past. Now, when I pull my 260lb bruiser/friend one would think I left the anchor out...

Currently I run Volvo F6 props yet have considered F5's. This is one option however costly.. The other issue with that is WOT rpm. Mine is exact at 5000-5100 now. Not that I see that very often(like twice in the last 2 yrs). I'm sure the smaller would bump it up 2-3 hundred rpm.

Just keep your back strong and stretched.. :D

Cheers
