Re: Dual Console
The bayliner you mention would most properly be referred to as a bow rider. Dual console primarily refers to a walk through windshield with bow seating with fishing capabilities and passenger comfortable seats in the bow. It does not have to have seating. It could just have a fishing platform. A bowrider will generally have carpet whereas a dual console will generally have fiberglas flooring for ease of cleaning. You don't want fish scales and parts in your carpet. Neither has anything to do with two helms.
The designation bowrider means, among other things, that there will always be a dual console (walk thru windshield).
The designation dual console will mean, among other things, that there is a walk through windshield and will be a dual purpose boat for fishing/skiing or cruising.
Some folks use the terms interchangeably but they shouldn't.
