Hi,fellow boaters I have a stumper I am dealing with.Im rebuilding my transom in my 1971 Sea Camper. The best I can remember is the thickness of the fiberglass1/4 in.+ 3/4 plywood with another 3/4 smaller area behind the transom plate for support. The area was rotten considerably. What I need to know is the thickness behind the transom plate to the 1/4 in. fiberglass. This particular setup is with a merc o/d 1971 pre-alpha with 888 302Ford.Also info about the shimming would be very helpful.I did read about a prior post but do not know if it applies to my setup? It said something about 2in. -2 1/8in?Thanks for setting me straight.
