Motor has good spark and good compression. Starts and runs for a time with coll start lever up. Puts out white smoke and sputters to a hault. Plugs are sopping wet with fuel. The carbs have been removed and cleaned, no change. Carbs where rebuilt with a kit and we set floats parallel with carb body. No real change. We removed the the hoses to the primer selenoid to be sure the fuel was not coming from there. I was convinced that we had the floats set wrong as I read in another post that they should be slightly higher on the end away from the hinge.

The VRO pump is removed and We are pumping the fuel manually.

You're correct, the floats need to be parallel. What spark plugs are you using? Correct idle jets? Running on both cylinders? Anything odd looking about the linkage?

What do you mean you are pumping fuel manually?

We believe the jets are correct. The linkage looks to be as it came from the factory. I am pumping the fuel w/ the priming bulb as the vro pump is off to accept a rebuild kit.

Oups, I failed to answer the spark plug question.

I will check and make sure they are a direct replacement.
