2003 Evinrude 250

I am thinking of buying twin 250 2003 evinrudes, and i thought if anyone knows evinrudes it would be the guys on Iboats! Just getting your opinions on them, i belive they are fitch techknology, and if i remember they have some kind of a "bad" reputation...anyone know anything about this? If its true or why??? If its the 2003 modles or why these motors got a bad name. Any input would be of great help!!!! I am soposed to make a decision by the end of the day so please give your inputs!! thanks guys!

BRP corrected the issues with the motors, year 2002 and later are fine motors.
You can bring the S/N to a dealer who can run them thru the system to see what if any issues or updates the motors have had.

I had a 2003 250hp motor, was very happy with it.

Those are known as "DI" motors (although all OMC / BRP injected motors are direct injected). Those are the pre runner to E-Tec. Some say they get better fuel mileage than the E-Tec.
