Need to find out year & gas mixture of my evinrude

Hi all,just bought an older evinrude V-4 85hp...need help finding year and proper gas mixture...Model # 85999R serial # J0002732....Thanks for any help out there...also is there a free site to get specs & repair info??? Guido

That'll be 1979. Fuel mixture 50:1, using a TCW3 oil

Cant get my 50hp force to plane properly?

I just got her running,went on a sea trial and wouldnt get on plane...what is the correct prop for a 15' bayliner with a 50hp force(1988) for a run about. Thank you Guido

Could be lots of suitable props. Post this as a new thread under the prop forum. There are some pros there that can help you. Give them as much info as you can. For instance they will want the hp rating of the boat, your current prop measurements, WOT rpms, total weight, the motor's vertical height in relation to the boat bottom and trim info. Photos of your current set-up won't hurt either.

With that said, the 85 hp will have more push than your 50 hp Force. Something isn't right.
