I got an older motor and I was wondering what I could spray in the plug holes to clean inside the power head. When trying to start this motor (6 hp), it would try a couple of times and then not try at all. I pulled the plugs and there is wet gas but with some blackish oil. It looks like just old mix that would have been in there. This motor hasnt started in a while. I was just wondering what I could use to spray up in there real good to clean it out that was safe for the motor.

One reason I am having a problem is that the existing string on the moor is only 2-3 feet long. It needs a new one that is longer.

thanks

Re: cleaning inside the powerhead

I chuck up a 3/4" socket in my drill when I'm trying to get these small motors going. Saves wear on my arm. Make sure the motor's foot is in water when you're doing this, because impellers don't like to be run dry.
