mercruiser under water.

hello, my 93 tempest recently t/o a boat full of water in a storm.
the boat was off before the water came in. I drained the oil and replaced it, and removed and cleaned the carb. I replace the fuel and still cannot start to boat.
I have fuel coming from the Accelerator pump at the carb, I have spark but even with quick start it will not fire.
I have removed and checked the plugs. they are dry and not flooded.

could the distributor be damaged fron the flood?

any opinions will be appreciated.

I have a mid 80's 3.0l mercruiser.

Damaged? Maybe.

Wet? Most likely.

Did you remove the cap and see if it is wet? I suspect you will find that it is.
