outdrive electrolysis

I boat a boat with minor outdrive electrolysis. I changed all the anodes on the drive as they were eaten. My question is what can i about the outdrive electrolysis that is there already paint ? sand? It hasn't rusted and it seems to be on the surface only.

It will never rust as it's aluminum.
Sand it and paint it or it will continue to get worse.Jerry

Depends on how much effort you want to put into it. If you want it to look and last like new, sandblast or beadblast the corrosion away and repaint it using the Mercury procedures here:

If you just want it to look good enough to keep most people happy, hit it with some sandpaper and a rattlecan of black paint.

Outdrive paint is available in a spray can.
