Does each set of points run all 4 cylinders or just 2 cylinders on my 75hp Johnson?

Seahorse, Each set of points fires 2 cylinders. However, they do not operate independently. The cams overlap such that one set of points opens, and the second set opens and the plug fires.

There should be a timing mark on the distributor pulley base. One set of points should open when ths mark matched the mark on the pulley. 90degrees away is the second timing mark on the pulley base. the second set of points should open at this spot.

Seahorse..... One set of points fires cylinder # 1 and #3, The other point set fires cylinder #2 and #4.

You have either a broken or missing wire that connects the points, or a faulty set of points.
