Dearly beloved, Mickey is not longer with us.
So let's celebrate the life, not death. He was really noticed in his short passage with us and although he sometimes could be a rat, he gave us plenty of excitement.
He was an avid jogger and loved to stay up late for a snack or two. he sometimes even shared the couch with us but mostly preferred his privacy. You and your sneaky ways will not be forgotten.

All that is left to say is... Mickey went down ho!!!

Glue traps work, but I think a little cruel. I prefer the big spring rat traps (just an oversize mouse trap). Just don't let it slam on your fingers, it will break the bones!!! Just a quick WHAM and the rat is often decapitated.

NOT good if you have kids or pets.

I caught a mouse in a glue trap once. We he saw me coming I guess he figured he would impress me enough to let him go so he started doing PUSHUPS.......was working too till he saw the cat coming too.then I think he had a heart attack,,,,

One day when I'm really bored, I'll have to post some of my mouse hunting escapades...I know I could have won the $10K prize if they were on video.

i can attest to the pain caused by rat traps. it didn't break my fingers but they sure were swollen for awhile. kids and things that will hurt hmmm wonder if it would really hurt if i did this yyeeeooooooowwwww yep it would.

LOL @ this whole thread

he sometimes even shared the couch with us
I was once sitting on the couch, no shirt on, watching a Dodger game when I started feeling a tickle on my shoulder. Scratched at the tickle a couple of times, then I looked over and there was a flippin? rat basically watching the game with me  :D

Y
up. Them things are naaaasty, use them a lot and always worry about the dogs. When I was younger and more sadistic, I ran a warehouse with typical vermin issues. We took some Exacto blades and epoxied them to a rat trap. We called it "The GuilloWap", the flippin' thing worked  ewwwwww.

Can?t stop LMAO @ that visual. Welcome aboard, although I think we may have sailed together before . . . ;)

We have a 1 year old beagle who we think is half cat and she actually catches mice. Daisy is now obsessed with them, the only things more important are Mommy and Bunnies . . . but if we say ?Mouse? she?ll sniff the whole house out until she finds an escape route and then basically will not leave that spot alone until we lock her out of that room for a while. She can dig them out of ivy for flip sake . . .

I have a Rat family that lives above my head here in my home office. We have a love hate relationship. I don?t really tell Mrs. QC about them, but when I hear too many feet scurryin? across the drywall ceiling I just start setting traps near their entry spots and that?ll quiet ?em down for a while. When I hear their return I kinda get a little smile although I am VERY concerned about the mess between the second floor and my office ceiling . . . another  and another ewwwwwwwwwww . . . Oh and they can sure make a mess in a boat, and a garage, and sports bags are the worst. Oh, oh , they love storing dog food in my little shop bins too. Mischievous little, industrious suckers fo sho!!

In our home we maintain 2 flusher's that are labs and 3 self propelled mouse catching units.... aka the cats.

I have not heard a noise in the ceiling in years..... either the mice are wearing slippers or just moved out.
