Let me start by saying that I know nothing about boats or boating in general. My friend has a 1980 Century Arabian boat that they have owned for about 12 years. As of the last few years, they have not really used it and are looking to get rid of it. I went to look at it and in general appears to be pretty nice, it just needs a thorough cleaning. The only thing that was wrong with it was a small tree had fallen on the windshield and broke it. They do not want to go through the trouble of fixing the windshield and trying to sell it, so they said I could have it if I wanted. The mechanics are all in good shape with regular maintenance done and everything works as should. There is a pair of skis, trailer and new cover for the boat as well.

How much would it cost me to get a new windshield for this boat? Where would I get one from? If the windshield was fixed and it was cleaned up, how much would this boat be worth?

Thanks!

if they wanna give it to ya, the price is right. windshields are very expensive. probably have to go to a glass shop for a custom fit. but if that's all it needs. i'd jump on it. the other thing to check for is rotten wood. the floor, the transom, the stringers. these are boat killers. can be restored, but lots of time involved in that from what i see here. other than that......
there's a saying. the most expensive boat ya'll own is the free one ya got. or the likes.... good luck.... she is a good looking boat...

Unfortunately not much...so if you forward your address..i'll take that poor broken boat off your hands for $20.......just trying to help:D:D:D, Thats a great boat! look up lanier marine liquidators in Georgia, they have hundreds of acres of salvage boats/parts ect...what else i would do is try Taylor Glass, they made most boat windshields for most brands. What its worth...is what someone will pay for it..search e-bay for the model & year..see if anyone else is selling and for how much, aside from that, its a classic and there should be lots of info on it online..Good Luck.

A Nice boat! Century boats have been around for yrs, they're an old name they were making mahogany speedboats similar to Chris Craft, back in the 40's I believe. They are well made. This one looks like a Sleek 18' Ski/Speedboat with a (desirable) Mercruiser I/O, 305/198hp 2bbl motor (the 4bbl version was 228hp), in good shape for it's year. I'm guessing it's about a 50mph boat as is. If the winasheild is fairly flat, maybe a piece of lexan or plexiglas would work. I'd jump on it myself if it was free, and I was in the market for a boat! Even if I had to put major work into it.

With a broken windshield, its worth more as a parts boat. Windsheilds start at about $600 and run up to a grand or two for custom replacement. iboats sells generic windshields in the marine store.

Look on ebay and craigs list for second hand windshields, check measurements, something my fit.

The cheapest repair is to use plexy and angle aluminum and do it yourself. But with those windshield wipers, glass is really advised.

Its a really nice boat. I think it would be worth spending the money to fix the glass as long as the rest checks out OK. You can tell by the dash, upholstery and grab rails that this is a higher end boat.
