Was the outdrives on the 1995 chris craft concept 27 omc or penta?

Thank You very much! I am looking at buying this boat and I am not familiar
with the volvo out drive. Alot of my boating friends tell me NOT to buy a boat
with the OMC out drive, as they are junk?

That's a VP, it's is an old design but rock solid.

OMC made a good drive BUT,parts are getting hard to come by and techs to work on them are very hard to find.
Can't go wrong with a Volvo...
With a OMC you will need to learn to do all the work yourself or prepare to spend big bucks getting it repaired.
I had a OMC Cobra that was a rock solid drive but i did all the repairs myself.

Definitely a Volvo, looks like a 290DP DuoProp. Hard to beat. Some call them the "Older Swedish Drives". They are a good design and hold up well, have been around since the 70's with no major changes. I have a 1991 model 290DP in my 22 foot Cuddy with the 570 (5.7L) 275hp engine. Great combo.

Looks like it has the stainless props, those are pricey ($1,100 new) so that is a plus if they are in good shape.

It does have twin stainless steel props that are in good condition. It has the 7.4 volvo carburated with 510 hrs. Is the 290 decent with the 7.4?

Should be plenty of motor for that boat.It will be fuel thirsty though...

The 290 drive can handle the power, no problem.
