Hi .. I am new to boats and forums..sorry in advance if i have posted in the wrong place.
I have recently obtained a 70hp Evinrude Model 70879c
I am trying to obtain a service manual....
I have searched for this model # only to find a 70873 70hp 1978
Is the 70873 and 70879c the same ?
Why isnt the 70879c listed... i have searched everywhere..

please help.. any advice appreciated..

In the OMC model guide book, there is only the model 70873. There is no mention of a 70879C. Are you sure that the number on the identification plate states 70879C ? Could you insert a picture of that plate?

Hi,

According to the info I have found 70873 - 70879 are all good model numbers for a 1978 Evinrude 70 HP.

Thanks ... so the 70879c is a 1978 70hp evinrude.

Is the service manual for the 70873 suitable?

What is the difference between these models.. will it be a problem in relation to working from the manual..
