Hello

I have a 21 ft syvlan cuddy cabin . I was wondering if anyone had any input on a mechanical type anchor cradle type thing that would mount on the front of the boat , So i would not have to risk drowning , droping and retreiving the anchor [It's cold in Ct.]The boat has a small skylight type thing in the cabin but that only gets you so far up to the bow any way .

2 things to consider is , 1...that boat has a rail running around the front [about 6" high] . 2....The running lights are mounted directly in the front of the bow .

Where can i see or look at one of these devices ? What are they called ? Can they be remotely used ? I would rather have a simple mechanical one rather than a electric winch type one .

Thanks for the imput ahead

Dave

I'm in the same "boat" as you. I have a 26 foot cuddy and would like to add the anchor mount, although I would like mine to be powered. I would like to see what people have done to solve this as well. Pics would be great too.

By no means an expert here, but I believe the cradle is referred to as an 'bow pulpit' and the winch to raise and lower the anchor is a 'windlass'.

Try searching, iboats or google, with those terms and you may turn up what your looking for.

Ayuh,....

Bow Pulpit, or Anchor Pulpit should find the mechanical mounting part of it....

Remote is usually electric, except for some manual rope models for rowboats...
I suppose you could rig your own roping for a remote use.... Maybe some sailboat hardware...

1 Issue that sometimes pops up is for loading onto the trailer, at a Steep ramp....
That extra foot or 2 can make a difference at some winchstands... At some angles...
