Help Identify boat Mfg. & Motor

I recently purchased a 15' boat motor and trailer, it will be my winter project. I would like to know who makes the boat and if they're still in business. Also i was told that its a 70hp Johnson, but after removing the motor cover i dont see anything at all that says Johnson on it only a date of 1976 and was told it was rebuilt 3yrs. ago....Any help would be greatly appreciate as this is my 1st boat and learning project....LOL... you can up load to a free service like photobucket.com then you choose the pictures you want( clik the little box at the bottom left of the picture) scrool to the bottom of the page, clik generate html, it will take you to the next page, scroll down to thumb nails clik on that and copy, then insert it into your post.

also if you are planing on posting pictures, you can use the Blue post reply or the go advanced, manage attachments, there you can upload , directly from your computer. besure you pictures have been resized to fit the format.

from that picture, i can tell you it is a closed bow, semi deep V hull.

my guess would be a mid 70's thompson.
I have a 79 thompson with a 1981 70 hp evinrude on it.
It looks much the same, except the windshield opens in the middle to let u walk out on the bow.

With that powerpack and shift arrangement, the year is somewhere between 1973/1978.

That looks right for 1976. The 1976 model started using the black ignition coils and the timing sticker is OK for that year.

MY EVINRUDE HAS THE EXACT SAME flywheel, only with a 19 degree top dead center. Looks like an evinrude to me. mid 80's.

Gearcase, powerpack and ignition coils are from the 1970's. The flywheel is correct for 1976 according to the parts diagrams.

Also, note the choke linkage on the carburetors and the lack of a tell-tale.

I was able to get ahold of the guy i bought it from and he says the boat is a Envonrude....He'd also told me the motor is a Johnson.....are the two companys one in the same ??.....I've found some pics online of 60's Envenrude boats that look similar but not the same ......and from what i understand Envenrude only made boats during the 60's until 1970.....I'm going to be gutting the interior and completely redoing it over the winter, should there be a tag anywhere on the inside that may be covered now by something that would have any info. ??..........and again....Thanks so much to all of you for your help and input......greatly appreciated !!!!

Check for the HIN on the outside starboard stern, near the top.

It looks to me its a 1920's triple masted scooner...I could be wrong.
