hooking up cable steering to our pride fury

Hi,

Sorry, new to this so forgive if information is not adequate. We have a Pride Fury and are trying to install new cable steering. Fine connecting to our johnson motor but having trouble attaching steering wheel. Only way it looks like we can do it will end in us having four screws visibly through our dash. Does anyone know if there will be a way around this or is this just standard?
