Hello. I spent the afternoon and part of the evening taking the leg off a 79 and putting it and a bunch of other other small parts on the top end of an 83 I had used as a parts motor a couple of years back. Once I fired the engine up I wasn't getting any water out the pee hole. I shut it down and raise the test barrel another 6 inches and started it again. This time I did get water out the pee hole but only when the rpm's were higher than idle speed. Also when the rpm's were up I was getting a good flow of water out of the back of the exhaust assembly through a hole about three inches below the lower cover right on the back of the leg. Is that normal to get watter out the back of the leg. I worked over a 15 hp a couple of years back but I really don't remember water coming from that hole at the back and I had a good flow at the pee hole no matter how slow it idled. I haven't put in a new impeller yet as I wanted to see how this motor was going to run before I ordered parts for it. Thanks for any insight and/or advice. Rick.
