Can I connect a T connector to Bilge hose to exit my overflow drain?

I am trying to figure out where to release the overflow hose from my live well. Instead of having to drill a new hole through the hull, can I add a T connector to where the bilge pump exits the boat and connect this hose there?

Thanks,

Tom

no the bilge pump should be total independent, it could also back flow into the bilge, as you cannot put a check valve in the bilge line. get the drill out.

I've seen several "tee'd" into the bilgeline around here. They put a big loop in the bilge line with the tee on the low side of the loop towards the hole in the hole. The loop keeps it from backing up into the bilge.

I'm gonna chime in here for Jason.

Any loop or rise above the exit fitting puts more head pressure on the pump and you lose gph. An inline backflow valve is the same, needs pressure to overcome initial resistance. That could make a difference in any emergency when the bilge pump is needed at full capacity.
