Re: suzuki 140 water in oil
I saw what I'm guessing is this engine for sale on Craigslist yesterday. The first question is are you the original owner? If so then you know how it has been treated. If not then you have to hope the seller was honest.
I'm sure there are way more qualified people who will step forward and help, but how much water are we talking here? Could it possibly have been condensation or have you changed the oil and it happens again? Now this is just backyard guessing, but I figure there are two ways for water to get in your oil. internal leakage from the water passageways and from the seal on the bottom of the engine where your drive shaft goes up into.
I would imagine you can check for internal leakage by draining the oil, putting the plug back in and flushing the engine for an hour or two. I have the same engine and seem to get about the same pressure out the pee hole while flushing as I do when the engine is running so I would imagine after a few hours if you pull the oil plug and get water then you have internal leakage.
To check if your seal on the bottom is leaking I'm guessing you could drop the lower unit and see if oil has accumulated under the engine after a day.
Once again these are only guesses in case nobody else has any suggestions.
