Im selling my boat so I can get something a little bigger. Wife says I cant have two boats. So, I posted it on ebay for a week, had 37 watchers. But only had 3 bids ($720) So I relisted it for another 3 days.
Now Im woundering if Im expecting too much?
Heres what were looking at, 16" flat bottom, good running 9.5, 55lb trolling motor, fish finder.
I would think that this is worth more that $720? What do you all think?
Heres a couple photos.

Wrong time of year to get the best price.

I agree. Sit on it. It should be worth about $1,000-$1200 in the Spring. Looks like the motor is about a 1976 Johnson.

In this area of Ohio, setups like you have go from $600 to $1,000 this time of year. In the spring, the same will go from $1,000 to $1,400. Also come spring time, there will be more choices on bigger rigs but with a bigger price. I sell in spring and buy in fall, unless it is a boat yard queen that has been for sale for several years. Usually it is easier to negotiate on price for them....Good luck.....SS.

Re: Your Opinion Please...

One of my dad neighbors has a similar boat and trailer for sale, all over the net, since last spring.

Great trailer, 40Hp Rude, console steering, all the right fish stuff, one owner, great shape, all papers. Dropped his price monthly from $2200 to $1200. It is well worth $2200. Only tire kickers.

Doesn't have to sell, just too many toys, and getting old. Took it off the market for now, and is going to try again next spring.

I watched several boats for sale in the same area, all summer, they are still for sale.

One dropped from $20,000 to $10,000, is still there. It is a divorce sale. I want it so bad I can taste it. Just the wrong place at the wrong time for me.

I talked to friends on the lake who were also looking at some of the same boats, as long as the prices keep falling, none of them will buy.

Tell your wife you need to buy your new boat now to get the best deal and sit on this one until spring. You should be able to get over $1k for it.

Have a great day,

Rob.

Wrong time of year for best price and the current fears in the economy is not helping either.

Re: Your Opinion Please...

Got an email Saturday from some one on criags list. I forgot that I posted my boat there about 2 weeks ago. This thing had to be burried there. They wanted my address so they could come and look. I thought:cool:. So I just replyed with a number where they could reach me. Well, Sunday I got a call and they want to come look at the boat. Great! So Sunday afternoon. I sold the boat for $1250.00. I told them on the phone I wanted $1500 for it, I wanted to make sure they were interested and not pulling a scam.
From what you all have said, looks like I got a good deal? Thanks for the input.

:D:eek::D:eek:, I think I just heard Santa.....

Re: Your Opinion Please...

if I saw that for sale in my neighborhood come April, I would be at your front door within the hour.... Tarp it till april.

I bought my Alumacraft FD with a 6hp Johnson last June. I was so hot to be out on the lake I handed him his asking price on the spot.
