re-installing the carb after cleaning

my slow speed knob has a notch on the motor that limits it from going a full 360 degrees. When I clean my carb and am about to put it back on the powerhead, where should I set the slow speed needle? I am talking before the knob goes back on?

does that make sense...if I don set it in the right spot initially, then the knob on the outside will be off as well.

thanks

Re: re-installing the carb after cleaning

I'd start with about 1 and 1/2 turns from lightly seated. After getting it running make your adjustment. If I recall, the knob just pulls straight off so you can just turn it where it needs to be, and if you need to go further which I doubt you will, you can just pull it off, put it back on past the stop and go further. Be careful you only lightly seat the slow speed needle so you don't groove it (as you prob. already know).
There's a carb setting thing on the FAQ section that Joe Reeves wrote which I and everone else find super helpful.
Let us know how she runs and good luck,

Gently seat the needle then undo 1.5 turns.

Set the adjustment when running and warmed up according to Joe Reeves instructions HERE

refit the knob in the mid point of its travel when the adjustment is finalised
