98 75 yahama will not start

My outboard motor will not start and i have changed the spark plugs. What could it be. I need some help. What can i check now. I have a charge on the battery.

pour some fuel into the air intake and
see it will fire.

Go to the Engine FAQs Forum, MNH. Do "Outboard won't start".

Let us know what you find.

check spark, do a forum search on home made spark tester, test compression. the 20 dollar wally world gauge will be ok. if spark and compression are ok fix the fuel system.
I dont reccomend spraying fuel down the throat of a non running outboard.
not only can you easily flood it or possibly hydrolock it. visit a burn ward.
careful testing is always faster and easier that splatter gunning.

i am getting fuel to the engine, and it still will not fire. I have also put new spark plugs in the engine. What next?

Is there a kill switch on this model SeaPro? could it be that I may have hit this switch? Where can I find this switch? I have another question. If I take the spark plug out and lay it on the motor and I do not see a spark, where do I go from there?

I charged up the battery and I am not getting a spark from the spark plug. My flywheel will not turn anymore now. any suggestions?

is the motor in neutral? the engine will not turn over in gear.

is the safety lanyard attached to the kill switch? this would prevent spark

I do not have a lanyard. It was in neutral when I tried to start it.

I have checked the kill switch but can not check it because now my fly wheel will not turn when i try to start the engine. I have a charger on the battery at the time. What could be wrong with my fly wheel?
