johnson 55

can anyone help!i have a johnson 55 which was running fine,i removed it while i painted the boat,since refitting there,s no spark on either plug,doesn,t seem to be any life to the coils,it seems there is a magnetto then some sort of sealed powerpack then the wiring from this splits to both coils.i would really appriciate some ideas on what to check and how.thanks

You might try unplugging the harness crank it with jumper cables.Be prepared you may have to manually choke it to stop. If it starts the kill circuit may have failed ben wired wrong or damaged.

thanks for your reply steelespike,i was just wondering if you were under the impression it wasn,t turning over,it,s turning over fine just no spark.also nothing has been unwired apart from the plug so it cant be wired wrong.this is what,s so strange about it.it was running sweet until a few weeks ago.kind regards.
