I built this outboard stand from some plans I got online. I can't remember where. (in here maybe) The design was done by D. Hayes Jr. I made it a bit larger than the plan called for and added a shelf. It is a good design if you are looking for one.

The pics make the base look as if it is bowed a bit. It is an illusion. The base is straight and supports the weight well. The whole thing is on casters and rolls easily.
BTW- $43.00 in materials, 3 hours build time cause im slow

One of the "tricks" to building a good OB stand is to get the angle right. I mean dupicating the angle of a transom, on a boat.

That way the engine will stand perfectly upright.

Most boat transoms are about 15 degrees.

Looks nice, GOOD JOB!

TDaddy, That's it! I remember now. I ran across it in one of my frequent searches. The stand works great. I made the base on mine 6 inches wider and raised the overall height by 4 inches. It carries my 70hp so well I would feel comfortable putting a 200 on it. I also built mine out of treated wood and used 3inch instead of 2 1/2 screws. The mount leans back 8 degrees. That angle worked out perfect for my outboard. I do not know if dh4winn79 (the designer) is still around. If he is, let him know outstanding plans.
