I was looking out the window this morning with my 5 year old son Eric. Conversation went like this:

Me: Do you see any deer?

Eric: Ummm, no.

Me: Do you see any bears?

Eric: Ummm, no.

Me: Do you see any Dinosaurs?

Eric: Papi! Dinosaurs live far, far away. They live in Florida

Florida residents, be on the lookout....

Later this morning...

Eric: Papi! Papi! I need a hat!

Me: Why? Are you going outside?

Eric: No, just to play with.

Me: Here, take my hat.

Eric: Papi! I need a cool hat.

(Ummm.... I thought my hat was cool)

:D

Yep! The kid knows his stuff. Lots of dinosaurs live in Florida, they zip along I-95 at 45MPH in the fast lane.:D

That's the one.
The kids loved it.
Hundreds of life size dinosaurs.
Highly recommend it for toddlers.
Just don't go at feeding time!:)

Actually, Florida has about the next best thing to a dinosaur - alligators. According to Wikipedia, they've lived here for 200 million years. Your son may know something you don't.

Bob, do you have any 45-70s loaded stout enough for those VT elephants?

We used to tell our kids that the monsters they thought might live under the bed, lived in Arizona and it's safe to sleep.
Then, we went to visit my brother, in Phoenix. Oh my.

Having a job that requires me to drive 10 hours a day, I can vouch for all the dinosaurs in Florida. These elderly people can really strike a nerve with their driving. I know that many people on this site may not agree with this next statement, but I feel that once a person hits 60 years old, they should have a very strenuous driving test, and if they get less than a 95%, no driver's license for them. I don't mean on a written test, heck, half those questions don't even make sense. I am talking about a road test, and watch their speed on the interstate, how they signal, etc. Nothing personal, I am just looking out for the safety of others.

I don't know if the cut-off should be 60 but I do agree with having a driving test. Even though I'm quickly heading for that cut-off. My grandfather bought a new Caddy every year because, "those SOBs ran into me. That SOB pulled out to slow, etc...." Never had the heart to tell him that his driving sucked and as a youngster it scared me into submission . Then, I had to ride ALL the way across country with him. From the Bronx, in New York, to his house just outside Los Angeles. After that, I was never really the same.

Well, I lived in Ft. Likkerdale for 8 years and got a lot of experience with FOP drivers (Florida Old People). Very interesting (terrifying) experience.

I thought their driving habits were related to being old until I got stopped by a road block. I thought they were supposed to be checking licenses. Well, they did that, but they were doing sobriety checks on most of the drivers. Officer told me that, depending on the day and time, up to 50% of elderly drivers were legally drunk.

Hadn't thought of that because I don't drink that much. But, I know others do. I see it everyday. The guys that stop at the Circle K to get a couple beers for the ride home. That's a life-style that's just not my style.

I would think that says a lot about law enforcement.
