Stupid question here! I was lasy and measured out my oil and added Valtec Carbon Free to the oil in my gass(less) container. I will not be filling up until tomorrow PM (24 hours). Will the two mix and cause a problem without the gas or will they be OK?

Re: Oil Additives

Should be OK. I do that all the time. But I do shake up the jug after adding a gallon or 2, to be sure everything is mixed OK.

Welcome to iboats!!!

Valtec Carbon Free ?? Really not familiar with that oil? I would dump it out and use a quality 2 stroke oil...... why take a chance on your engine for being to lazy to dump the oil.

Re: Oil Additives

Thanks for the welcome Bob_VT! I was a member already "Scaleman" but forgot my password. I know it could of been emailed but I no longer had that account or access to it!

I guess not only was I lazy but tired too when I requested opinions. Like High Trim said I added the FUEL additive not an OIL additive it is to decrease carbon in my Yamaha 15HP (2 stroke) so my topic title was way wrong! My apologies.

I guess my primary concern was the fuel additive (Valvtect Carbon Free) mixed with the 2 stroke (Yamalube) without the gas and sitting until I fuel up my truck and tank which is tonight. So it has been sitting in the tank awaiting gas for 24 hours. Could it break down the oil or no worries?

Re: Oil Additives

Todays oils (good ones anyway, like Yamalube) have emulsifiers (?) that are really good about mixing and staying mixed. We sure don't see seperation like we used to.

(Watch this) Just one more great reason to have oil injection. (Can't help myself.....)
