Sitting here watching the Canada/German game. The score is 3-1 for Canada and Germany is playing Canada a lot harder than any other team.
I think the German Goalie should be the #1 star of the game.

The cable channel verses at least provides some highlights of the games during the NHL games and post game shows. Not much else for televion coverage here in the states which stinks.

You nailed it oops...Canada vs. U.S.A....this is going to be a great game. Separetly, I caught some of the Russia/Slovak game today....very good game from what I saw. The Russkies, the Swedes, the U.S....it's going to be a long haul.
One of the stations stateside has to be broadcasting this game!!! Up here its obviously a given. I would think it would be easy to find in the Northern states...which have a lot of hockey activity.
Regardless, I'll be all over that game........you'll probably here me cheering from here.

There is nothing listed in the TV guide, everything around here is cable and they are nationwide companies.
I will be rooting for the US of A, but will keep a window open to hear your delirious shouts of joy!!! Enjoy!!

Should be (I hope) a great game tonight! U.S.A. always brings their A game when we play them. I saw a few games when we last played in Halifax, but didn't have tickets to the finale. To me, this is the purest hockey there is. No money, (sort of) on the line...just kids, playing for their country...
What else is there??
PS: ( BigPrairie, as a Bruins fan since 1968, I take offense your missed spelling of Phil Kessel, in your original post. (Kidding)

Thanks for the thoughts Rattle..much appreciated. Those 8 guys didn't see it coming at all and they were all experienced. The Canadian Rockies continues to assert themselves as something to be respected even to those experienced outdoors people. Sad days for Fernie.
Sorry about the misspelling...the intent was definitely there on Kessel's talent. (I'm pulling for Patrice Bergeron to bounce back from that coma but....who knows? another great hockey player..hopefully)
Now for the big game....less than an hour away. The good ol' U.S vs. Canada. They say this is now the new 'big' rivalry with the (former_ Russians now dropping away and the rise in quality of the U.S junior hockey program. Now put that against the standing Canadian champions and you have a very good rivalry and game coming up.
I'm anticipated a nail biter.
Interesting about Sweden laying a beat down on the Russians earlier today..what was it, 5-0. Sweden is one of the favoured teams in this tournament so really...no surprise there.
Anyhow....bring it on, the big Cdn machine awaits.

...unbelievable....I mean absolutely un-frikkin-believable....now this is the sport they call hockey.
Talk about premium skilled competition.
It's going to be one heck of a third period.
..for those of you not able to get coverage its the end of the second period (one to go) with Canada up 5-4 so far...and its a close game...very fast, very tense, very very close and tough.
This is good hockey....the fastest sport in the world....yeah baby!!!!

WHOOOOOOOOOOO what a game. Man ive never been glued to the TV like that in a long time. Just fantastic playing from both sides. Now thats hockey. I think we just saw the gold metal game. Its going to be hard to beet that.

Bass Man the final score was 7-4 for Canada but the last two were scored in like the last 60 seconds on an empty net. You missed on heck of a game. And trust me the US were in it up to the last second of the game.

....now that was a hockey game!!!
That is the best example of hockey I've seen in quite a while. They should use that to use the demonstration game for the unitiated (soon to be?) fans out there.
The U.S started out very strong jumping to a 3-0 lead within the first 8 minutes or so. Both teams were paying the price for penalties and as a result Canada bounced back by 3, tying it going into the second.
Then they jumped out by one early in the second, followed by the U.S tying it up and then Canada got a go ahead goal. That pretty much remained until the last minute of the game as puddle jumper said, when Canada got a couple of empty netters with the U.S pulling their goalie to try to come back.
Great game guys!!! Everyone should feel good about that game...both sides, all players, all winners.....love it.
Lets keep it going....Semi-finals here we come.

It was a fantastic game, BP. We always hope that these games happen... and every once in a while, we see them! Its a hockey thing, so I guess its not everyones cup-o-tea.
