I have a center console . The motor on it is a fried Johnson. I have a good 1975 mercury 65hp I want to put on it . But the controls for the mercury ae side mount . The center console has a top mount. I have looked but cant seem to find a top mount for my year mercury. Is there anyway to do this motor swap.?

Teleflex has the control and may even have cables the will covert what you have.

Teleflex has a web site and there are a couple companys that build tyrims the one that comes to mind iis CMC Tilt n' Trim.

Casper you can mount your side mount on the side of the console, the shift handle is reversible. to be honest, the aftermarket trim and tilt units cost about what the motor is worth.
