Hello, any problems adding a alternator to 2008 15hp 4 stroke manual start?
The Tohatsu part number for the rectifier is:
3R3-76060-0Charging Rectifier KitMFS9.9/15/18B2 (4-Stroke)
The bolts don't come with it so you'll need 2 1/4x24 x 1, 18-8 stainless hex head bolts and lock washers. That's what my 18B took and should be the same on yours.
Your motor has an alternator already you just need the recitfier.
If you want genuine Mercury Marine parts then order it from a Merc dealer. I'd compare pricing. I got mine from Tohatsu and it was about $70.00 if I remember.
As a side note: The 2009 has an optional bigger alternator but I don't know if it fits with your stator or not. Maybe someone here knows and will chime in.
