looking at a boat with a Nissan Motor
NS40C

need to know year model of this motor
fuel gas/oil ratio
does this motoer have a thermostat
does this motor have a pee hole to show water is passing thur it
and any other Info. that i should know

this motor has remote controls with electric start, i noticed the motor has a pull choke on the motor. does it also have an electric choke? i wasnt able to get all the infromation from the elderly man that i wanted. now distance going back to check things is a problem.

Unless someone removed it, yes, it has an electric choke solenoid.

Elvin is right, except... I have seen a few Tiller-steered electric-start models that had remote controls added (cobbled up) later on. Usually not recommended, unless done by a trained tech.

The EF type (EF is for "electric/fishing", and means tiller steered), did NOT come with choke solenoid. The EP type (EP is for "electric/pleasure", and means remote steered) DOES use the electric choke.

So, if it has a tiller handle, odds are that it was originally an EF type, and a previous owner added the control box. If so, he may have neglected to add the choke solenoid. Connect power, turn the key to "run" without starting, and push in on the key switch. That should activate the electric choke (if present), and you should hear an audible "click". No click, no electric choke.

thanks both of you. both have good knowledge of Nissan motors. the motor is on 4 ft trihull Mckee Craft, pretty sure it all came from Mckee as a package.

1995 14 ft Mckee fiberglass trihull boat

electic start
remote controls (no tiller Handle)
electric trolling motor w/foot controls
cheap depth finder
Cox galv trailer

boat and motor look to a bit above average
i havnt been able to find out the year of the motor by serial #
does $2500.00 seem to be a good price of the above equiptment?

Depending on condition...It seems a bit on the high side. It really depends on you local market. In Florida that would sell for $1500 to $2500.
