Bought my first boat on 01/01/09.
Bayliner 2050 Admiraly Cuddy. Came with all the papers.
Everything appears fine and works, paid $1,000.00.
Great trailer, dual wheel, brakes, bunks great ...

I feel some bad, the times and all, seller was hard-up.

That said, I have found something funny.

Motor is 305, outdrive is 280 Volvo. DuoProp.
Seller said this boat will do "Wheel-Stands in the water".
He seemed like a normal person ... but who knows.

Sorry for long intro, here is me question.

The forward prop has number B4-854825
The rear prop has number B4-853624

There is NO MISTAKE on the numbers here.
Meaning, no typos.

The unit, (both props), Duoprop number is 854817.

What is with this rear prop number? No reference at all.
And, my Aunt works for Volvo in Sweden! I checked!

Re: New to me boat, hotrod or F-upped?

The 20 foot Bayliner cuddy with a 4.3 six cylinder and a Mercruiser single prop outdrive will do 50 MPH top speed so I don't doubt that with the 305 it will get up and go like a scalded cat.

The only thing I know about Volvo is that they have a reputation as excellent drive units and the props are two different sizes, so I can't help you there.

Re: New to me boat, hotrod or F-upped?

Thank you for the responses.
I am sorry, for late come-backs. IE stopped working
after post ... friend helped today to get it going again.

The Bondo guy asked, "so what is the question"?

The part number for this duoprop is B4-854817.

That consists of two pieces,
forward prop, B4-854825
and back prop, B4-854833.

My back prop has number B4-853624.
You can see, it is NOT a matched set.
My number does NOT show up anywhere, on any list.

A boat repiar place told me over the phone, that it will of course, work, but will damage the lower bearings.

Any suggestions? Take props in and "make them a set"
or buy new ... new is about $600.00, aluminum ...
thats a lot of beer.

Ayuh,...

I guess I'd take 'em both to a Prop Shop,....Not a Volvo Dealer, a Real Prop Shop...
They should have some Idea as to what you've got going on,...
And,..
They'll know whether 1 of them needs Bending, or if Replacement is needed...

If your Aunt can't find the answers from Volvo,....
I kinda doubt any of us can Help much....
Possibly Don.S might have access to some data bases, I know he does for Volvo motors,+ drives....

Don moderates the I/O - motors forum,... Pop down there,+ get his attention...
Oooh,... Btw,...
Don was abit edgy last night, Don't mention anything about Automotive Mechanics,..... :D :D
