Re: Limewire freezing

I have avoided limewire and blocked it when I was doing IT work since at least two years ago (last I knew) it was virus loaded and a dangerous place to visit.

I agree. Limewire is loaded with viruses and child porn. I have no interest in Limewire or any P2P software.

And the files you do get that aren't loaded with one of those....you stole. So there is no good outcome to a Limewire download.

Limewire claims that its software contains no virus, spyware, etc... It used to, and for that and other reasons I don't use it.

I don't use P2P software very often, but when I do, I use Bittorrent.

Same with Limewire....

Last week, ladies laptop....546 trojans in the OS.....son's used Limewire ...nuff said.

As for P2P, I too, go Bittorrent client (along with other stuff). If you do go this route, just know the limits, what to expect and CYA.

Hehe I hear ya.. What I meant was Limewire itself came with spyware when you installed. They "claim" that is no longer the case. It's probably been 5-8 years since I've dealt with it personally.

Ok, in objection to the above... I love limewire. I have used it flawlessly for years to "share" music and helped to build my 5000 some odd song library with it.

Have you tried updating to the newest version? I run 4.12.15 and dont have any issues with it.
