Okay, as spring approaches I am gearing up to repair a crack in my hull as well as rip out the floor, stringers and foam.

I need you guys to help me with what I will need for supplies (glass, resin, foam, etc). It's for my 14' MFG tri hull.

Any and all help is appriciated.

I looked through, but didn't see any list. I saw a post where you asked Oops! if he saw your list, but I didn't find the actual list!

Can you post it here for me?

When you did your transom, did you take the cap off?

John, I just read all the way through your thread and noticed that you glasses the entire inside of the hull, which I am not planning on doing. I only plan to coat the deck, stringers and transom in resin. How many gallons will I need just to do that? 2?

Hay Andy , you must have read something wrong , I didn't glass the hole hull ?? when you glass the stringers , you start with the glass going two inch's out on to the hull , then 4 inch's out then the last layer 6 inch's out !! when your doing the transom you have to do the same, on my boat , my transom doesn't cover the hole stern !! but even if yours does its the same over lap frist 2 inch's then 4 then 6 inch's !!!!

I ordered the 6 and a half gal, kit and went threw 5 gals !! US Composites it was 234.00 if i remember right , now if you use polly it will be cheapier !! hope this answers your question , John

Okay, maybe I looked at your pictures wrong, just seemed like you glasses the entire inside of the hull...

Is there anything wrong with going with poly?

HAy

Nope not a thing wrong with poly , you have to make sure that you ruff up the hull where you are going to lay it , polly will not bind to the fiberglass, its a mechanical bond , where epoxy has a chemical bond it binds right to the old fiberglass!!

For what you are going to us your boat for poly will be great , I just like epoxy I know it , have worked with it before , and i trust it !! John

OHH yea Andy when you put the stringers in you have to bed the in something . I used PL premium , the thing is you dont want the stringers to touch the hull , it can make hard spots and then crack the hull , John
