I found a 2007 bank repo brand new Four Winns H190 for $16K. It has the
Volvo 4.3 190 HP with sunsport seating and a trailer. Bimini, bow and cockpit covers also. Is this a good deal in today market? Will have manufactury warrenty and dealer is also providing 2 yrs of service for free. Winterizing etc..

Thanks,

How is it brand new being a 2007, has it never been registered. If that is the case then yes this is a pretty good deal.

Brand spanking new... Never used and never owned by anyone other than Four Winns and the banko dealership.... I also could get a H180 for $14.6k same engine. I think the H190 is a better deal along with a wider beam. Either one I would be the first owner and get the full factory warrenty.

thanks,

Re: 2007 Four Winns H190

the H190 weighs 2650 with the 4.3. the 4.3 is absolute minimum in a 19 footer.

the H180 weighs 2310 with the 4.3. the H180 is going to perform much better with the 4.3, and is cheaper. they are great boats and if you get factory warranty. i would say go with the H 180.

Re: 2007 Four Winns H190

Sorry to disagree TD but the H190 is the better deal in my opinion. Resale alone is going to be better. I have a 19.5 foot wellcraft that weighs about the same and it has the 4.3L and it performs very well for both top end and hole shot. I think the 4.3L with a 4 barrel is a great set up for this size boat as it does not use a ton of gas and you can wring a lot of performance out of the V6 with the right prop.

Re: 2007 Four Winns H190

Thanks for the input. How about the overall size with a wider beam and length the H190 has? Main reason you like the H180 would be due to engine size and overall performance? Will the extra 300 lbs really weaken the overall performance? Overall price diffrence is about $1,600 between the two. Thanks for all your advice.

Also if it is the stealership going under then the service free bee is worthless. I would tell them to knock more money off versus 2 years of service. Who knows if they will be around in 2 years.

Sorry to ramble on but the other thing to consider is resale. While the boat will be new to you. The minute you drive it off the lot it is a 2 year old boat regarding resale value. Not a 2009 boat. Still sounds like a good deal.

This dealership actually bouught all the repo's from the bank. They specialize in Crownline boats. They offered the bank a set price for 53 four winns and bank accepted the offer. They are also now going to carry the four winns brand along with crownline.

This is still a 2yo boat which means as soon as you leave the dealership NADA value is between 12600 and 14600 retail and trade value would be about 10000.

So the real question is are you willing to lose 6000 dollars in value as soon as you sign the contract.

I was reading up on NADA values and they seem to be way off in most cases. I think there was a forum on it on iboats also. I have been looking around at other H190 and people are asking 18K for 2007's 12-16k for 2000's -2006's. These are all used boat prices.

one thing, you cannot beat the drive train. the VP is the best. and easier to service.

Re: 2007 Four Winns H190

you had mentioned a good prop. Do you have a recomdation for a better one than the standard prop the boat will come with? If so how do they cost and what will it do to the perfomance of the boat?

Thanks,

Re: 2007 Four Winns H190

I am spinning a 14 1/4 X 18P on mine and it pulls out of the water way fast. Top speed is around 43 with this prop but I never go that fast anyway. Everyone always brags about how fast they can go and how to prop for speed but in this size of boat you will typically be on a lake or river and you do not want to go much over 40 anyway unless the water is glass and you want to get somewhere fast. Much over 40 and you get beat to death by the chop. It all depends on what you want to do though. You can pick up a nice stainless 4 blade prop for around 250 bucks on ebay or online.

Re: 2007 Four Winns H190

proper propping, depends on your use. do you want a good hole shot, for skiing, wakeboarding? or do you want max speed for fast cruising? there is a give and that in this propostion.

this is a discussion for the Prop forum.

Go for the 190 but negotiate for a better price. I just checked NADA and average retail is $14,445 and NADA does seem to be a little higher than what they actually sell for. However I have the 190 and the extra length and width will be much better as well as sale or trade in the future. I think the performence will be un-noticeable. Go for the 190 it's a better deal. Just my two cents.

Re: 2007 Four Winns H190

I think I am going with the new 2007 H190. I can't find anything near this price on boat trader, craigslist, ebay, etc... People and dealers still want 13-18k for a 2001 -2005 used boat. I live WA state and we still have a decent economy and people arn't desperate yet.

Thanks for all the help!

Re: 2007 Four Winns H190

We got the same deal on the same same boat from the same place! We also got $700 in marine accessories which came in VERY handy. They told us the 2 year free maintenance special was over and this was their new promotion. We live in Oregon and didn't have to pay sales tax. This made it something we couldn't pass up. To get an '07 H190 with bimini, bow and cockpit cover, depth sounder, removable carpet and 4.3 for $16,277 out the door, we feel we did VERY well!

Keep us posted.
