Im buying a 150hp Evinrude. Im going to post the model number so that it can be looked up and see if Im right or wrong. the # E150ELENC. http://www.maxrules.com/OMC_models.html. from this link I have looked up. my motor is a 1992 counter rotation motor. what I'm curious is the cost of a CR prop? is this going to be expensive type to buy? Im sure that even thought it is a CR motor, it should be fine being used as a single motor. I know Im posting more than once on here with this whole situation but my other post have went unanswered and this is real important that I can get all imformation about this motor. couls some please help me. Thanks so much

Re: Question about this motor

Evinrude, 150, electric start, long shaft (20"), 1992, meaningless suffix C.

Thats not a counter rotation engine. That would have a C after the 150 (even if it existed)

Re: Question about this motor

Im new at reading the codes and took the two last digits and it made me think it was CR. I thought is this prop going to cost more? anyway, Im looking to haul maybe 4 adults around and wanted to know what would be the best prop size to save gas but have some speed and power? Thanks Steve

Re: Question about this motor

Try the prop forum,
a few different issues come into play, weight of boat, type of hull and you have to compromize a bit between hole shot or flat out top speed.
Stainless props are better than aluminum, but aluminum is fine too.

Re: Question about this motor

I will try that. what I am putting this motor on a 1976 20ft Mako. saving gas is more important than speed but I also like to have some speed if something was to rise like bad weather, things of that nature. Im going to be doing more fishing than anything. the gulf can change pretty quick so I dont want to be slugging along to get back in. anyway, this gives you a better idea of what I have and plan on doing but Thank you very much for the help given.
