Just wanted to say thanks to dh4winn79 and prove that his method works....
took maybe $40 bucks total to build. couple hours if that.

I have saved that info, and when I get some time I will either look for a tape in feet and inches, or convert the figures given to metric.

I had the neighbor kid weld this one up for me from some scrap steel. I gave him $50 which was very agreeable to him. He probably would have done it for half that or less. But he's a good kid and I like helping him and his older brother.

The stand has about 11 inches of clearance from the bottom of the skeg to the floor. The Merc has a 20" shaft, so even if I went with a motor that had a 25" shaft, I'd still have clearance. The big wheels are because I have to move it around on the sand here.

that merc weighs a lot

i woulf suggest weld a piece of metal right int eh middle of that traianlge on the side. so that it distributes the weight more into two smaller triangles.

just feels like its going to collapse in:eek:
