1988 200 Black Max

I just bought a boat with a 1988 200hp Black max without test driving it.....big mistake!! Turns out the gearcase is toast. The propshaft is twisted, and there is metal in the oil and it dosen't like to go into foward without grinding. Is there a reasonably priced solution out there? Is there anyone in the treasure coast florida area that might lend (rent) me some gearcase tools? I can rebuild one, just don't have the tools.

Go to this web site. You can get a NEW complete unit with 3 year warranty for $795.00 ready to bolt on and they are in Florida!!! This will be the cheapest way as a propshaft is $250.00 and if you need gears they are around $375.00

I've installed a # of SEI outdrives, great Warranty.

Glad to see they are making OB drives now!
