I just boat an old boat. (1973 cotton cordell goin jesse) I would like to use it to fish for just a few years until I can buy a newer one. The floor is soft in the front going under the deck. i don't mind trying to repair the floor but i don't know how to get under the casting deck. It seems to be a one piece molded fiberglass. I don't know how to remove the casting deck without taking the whole top of the boat off. anybody have any suggestions?

Re: soft floor

post pictures of areas you have in question is a good place to start.

caps are normally held on my rivits or adhesive. this is removed and the cap can come off.

Re: soft floor

you could have a one peice cap.....or a liner.

with out pics its impossible to tell.....

the glass can be cut away and work performed then the cut away peice replaced.....but unless you know what you are doing.....it can look ugly.

please post pics.......and we can give you the best approach....but as mentioned above......most of us seperate the top cap from the hull.

cheers

Soft floors are a big plus in a boat!!!! Don't believe all that stuff people are saying about them being bad. Just think of it this way; would you rather fall and hit your head on a hard floor or a soft floor? :D

Re: soft floor

or you can look at it this way:

if you are in a boat and fall and hit your head on a floor.. the boat is probably parked in your garage since boats have decks and not floors...
