Warning Buzzer

I was reading the post on here about the warning buzzer. where are they typically installed and if there is no typical instalation point where does the tan/blu wire originate so i can trace it...?

The buzzer itself is located under the dash. Power comes from the purple wire also under the dash. The tan/blue wire goes back to the engine to the oil, temp, gear lube switches on the engine. These switchs are in the ground wire basicallly. Since the power comes from the helm, when the switches are in the closed position, the complete the circuit to ground.

On my boat (05 5.0 merc i/o alpha efi) the brn/blue which is a grounding wire goes from the beeper (under the dash) to the engine connector pin #4 then to the ECM plug A pin 9. The beeper is powered 12V from any 12V on the gauges. In my case I must have the safty switch (landyard) ON and the ingnition ON for test mode.
