It's a Belgium motor and may say so on the SN tag.

Re: engine id

2005 model (nice motor, I have the same model).

Tricky question about the country of origin being better or worse quality. My guess would be no. Brunswick would have the same quality control no matter what country or factory the motor originated from. Belgium has always enjoyed a very high standing in the industrial world, me thinks you have a very good motor.

That being said, I would be a little edgy about ANYTHING that comes out of China.

Re: engine id

hi, thanks for your reply.. one question if i may ask... this motor only has 4 hours on the clock.. starts on the button.. runs as sweet as a nut.only thing if you idle up to around 1500-2000 rpm it seems very very sensitive.. and difficult to find the right spot! does yours display the same sort of thing?.. have not yet been on the water as the weather over here is not let warm enough for me!!!! regards alan.......

Re: engine id

Yes, but it is not nessesarily a problem.

It is not even close to being properly 'run in'. Any little quirks need to be addressed after the proper run in period, at the first service.

Do you have the owners manual, it explains the proper run in procedure in detail. It is very important that you follow the correct procedure.

Re: engine id

hi, no i dont have a manual.. but i'm ok with that side havin run proper carbed 2 strokers for many years.. it's just that i cant see why the rpm should be so sensative on the idle up lever! not that you really need it anyway...but if that's the way they are then so be it.. just me being a bit fussy i guess!! would be nice to hear from a few more people with the same lump! as a returning boater it will be interesting to see how a modern 4 stroke goes against my ols 2 strokers on the same but new hull! cheers again alan......:)or:mad:
