starts fine runs good wont rev up

i have a 88 johnson 120 it will start quick and good and run strong but i cant get the most out of my throttle. the carbs are rebuilt new plugs, head gaskets evrything but coils and wires could that be the problem??just bought it few months ago..

If the carbs were rebuilt, you may have to do a sync, and link. Do you have a service manual?

no i do not but i ordered one today at a boat shop will probley get it tomorrow. what do u mean about sync and link?

Putting the spark, and throttle linkage in proper order.

what do u exactly mean about spark i understand the linkage. i dont have alot of experience with boat motors i kno how a motor works and small engines and other not outboards

the linc n sinc, is a step by step procedure, that coordinates the electrical pulses to the spark plugs(spark) with proper fuel/air mixture, (carbs) so that they work together, and the motor runs at it's optimum.

the power head works like any other 2 stroke motor.

how would u do that i got a manual but its difficult to find my problem.what are the step by step procedures?
